What a New Board Gives You
A consumer unit upgrade from Yorkshire Electrical and Renewables costs between £600 and £1,200, depending on the size of the board, the number of circuits and access. Henry fits modern boards with RCBO protection on each circuit and surge protection where needed, then tests and certifies the installation.
Your consumer unit is the heart of your electrical system. Older fuse boards often lack the protection modern regulations expect, and a single fault can knock out power to the whole house. A new board puts that right.
RCBOs protect each circuit individually. If a fault occurs, only the affected circuit switches off rather than everything at once, so there is far less disruption to your home.
Surge protection can be fitted inside the board to help guard televisions, computers, kitchen appliances and EV chargers against spikes in the supply. Henry will explain whether it is right for your property as part of your quote.
Every upgrade is fully tested and certified when it is finished. Pricing is assessed case by case, so Henry will visit, look at your board and circuits, and give you a clear, no-obligation quote.
